We are a society of local residents dedicated to the preservation and promotion of regional traditional and contemporary folk music and dance.
Southern Maryland Traditional Music and Dance (SMTMD) is a not-for-profit {501(C)(3)} civic organization formed to preserve and promote the appreciation and performance of traditional and contemporary folk music and dance in American culture. Through sponsorship of concerts, dances, and other activities, SMTMD enriches folk culture in the Southern Maryland region.
