I studied art under an amazing tutor in Winter Park Florida from the age of fifteen. Her name was Barbara Bassett and she helped shape the direction of my entire life. All that I've sketched, etched, and painted have been because of the skills, inspiration, and vision that she taught. I carry those skills forward and try to honor her with every stroke of pencil and brush. I have no formal college traing in art, but have studied under Ms. Bassett in Florida and under Ted Hodgsett in New Mexico.
I recently was introduced to the Leonardtown Arts Center and have become as involved as I can be in seeing that it flourishes. I believe that creativity is the language of life itself. I've lived in Southern Maryland for fifteen years and look forward to seeing where art will take me - on an adventure, I'm sure.
The Gift - This watercolor artist is called "The Gift" and is of a woman from Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. When I painted it I thought I knew what the gift was, but now I know it was something entirely different. The real gift is her joy.
