Mike Martin
Mike Martin is a full time potter, working and teaching in Calvert County. He volunteered and helped with the Huntingtown High School ceramic art classes with Dona Baker. His background is firing electric, gas and wood kilns. Mike mixes his own glazes and has all the chemicals needed to mix for others for a small fee. He teaches at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, in their Adult Art Studio, in Dunkirk / Owings Maryland.
Mike's work is strictly functional pottery, ready for everyday use. All his glazes are food safe, mircowave safe, dishwater safe and he even has some ovenware casseroles.
Mike has taken extensive classes at Hood College in Frederick Maryland, classes at Baltimore Clayworks and Touchstone Center for Crafts in Farmington PA.
