My involvement in the arts is across many different mediums; but what I have been most drawn to using is acrylic on stretched canvas, which I can build myself. I have put much of my time into pencil and watercolor along with pen and ink drawings.
I am a member of the National Art Honor Society and have won several art contests around the county including the St. Mary's County Fair contest (my farm girl eating a watermelon is displayed on Dyson's hill every year) and the Catholic Daughters contests in my earlier years. I have also been recognized for painting murals in homes and have displayed sculpture art at North End Gallery in Old Leonardtown.
Drawing has come very natural to me since I put the pencil to paper. I recognized my talent when I was 4 years old. I began leaving hidden artworks in my grandmother's house and they were astonished I was the one leaving them. They have kept everything I have done.
Seeing how different people react to the same drawing is incredible. Though I reflect my life in my paintings, I would love to see how they can translate into others' lives as well. I want people to see my work and know it is mine without hesitation.
Art fulfills me, I am blessed with a talent and feel compelled to finally show it.
