The Calvert Marine Museum was again chosen by Bay Weekly readers as the BEST OF THE BAY MUSEUM for 2011. For the past twelve years the Bay Weekly Newspaper has polled readers for their favorite things in Chesapeake Country to determine “Best of the Bay.” Thousands of responses are tallied in over 50 categories including Best Local Musician, Museum, Book Store, Fishing Hole, Restaurant, and many more.
“We have received this honor five times before. Needless to say this award reflects the hard work and dedication of the Marine Museum’s staff and volunteers. They are the ones who provide the quality and professional educational programs, exhibits, publications, seminars, and special events for which we have become recognized,” said Doug Alves, museum director.
