The BAA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2005 by Jayne Stefani-Keating for the purpose of providing the community with a dance environment devoted exclusively to the study of Classical Ballet and its related arts following the Russian (Vaganova) method of training. Scholarships will be available for in-need students who wish to study but are unable to meet tuition requirements.
The younger dancer (ages 5-8) will participate in a 2-week, full-day program, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. beginning July 25, and going through August 5. The curriculum will include classes in ballet technique along with age appropriate ballet related arts and crafts activities.
Beginner through Advanced students will attend lessons Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with daily core curriculum classes in Technique, Pointe, Pas de Deux, Character and Court Dance. Guest teacher, Fernando Carillo of the Alvin Ailey Dance Company will conduct classes in Contemporary Ballet (The Horton Technique).
All students will participate in a final Lecture/Demonstration performance open to the public on August 6.
