Artworks@7th on Bay Avenue in North Beach has moved to a beautiful new location on the boardwalk at 9100 Bay Avenue #104.  We cordially invite everyone to our official grand opening reception, Saturday, April 7th, 2012 from 1pm to 5pm, featuring fresh new works by the artists of Artworks@7th, and of course, celebrating our brand new location.

Because of the larger amount of wall and floor space, Artworks is announcing a Call for Artiststo come and join us. Artists can contact us and get information via our website:www.artworksat7th.com or contact membership chairperson at gbwood2@verizon.net.

Artworks@7th organized as a cooperative gallery in 2003 by the efforts of Mary Mattingly and the legal expertise of Lynda Stiegel. Other local businesses provided support and Dale Thomas of Nice and Fleazy Antiques generously provided our first venue. Three years later the gallery was able to move to a larger space across the street. As the gallery moves forward, it will continue to provide space & opportunity for local artists to exhibit & sell their art. Of those original founding members of January 2003 there are 5 still remaining with us: Kathleen Addario, Eileen Baca, John Gerachis, Ruth Marshall, and Gerry Wood.

Carmelo Ciancio, painter and scratchboard artist, remarks, that when artists create new artworks they are often influenced by their surroundings, it is only natural that when artists exhibit their work that the space selected be the best for this venue.  The space must be elegant, sophisticated, spacious, and have lots of light. "Well, we finally have it all."

Ellen Robinson, president of the gallery and ceramicist, says, "Artworks@7th is an integral part of a tightly woven community and dedicated in exhibiting quality art work. Member artists belong to Artworks@7th because it's a cooperative gallery, owned and operated by local artists. They like the idea of making their artwork accessible and affordable to hundreds of potential art buyers each week. In addition to selling their art, they understand the importance of belonging to a network of peers who promote and support their creativity. Artworks@7th includes artists who have never before shown their work in a gallery setting and members with established art careers."

"Our new gallery will be on the boardwalk, which, I believe will make us more exposed to the public. The space is a major upgrade and will serve well as a gallery," says gallery member, artist Carol Wade, acrylic painter and creator of many of our fun and most memorable show graphics.

"Here we go! Onward and Upward! I'm proud to be a member of Artworks@7th since 2008," says Pat Troiani, watercolor artist and jeweler.

The Artists at Artworks@7th are dedicated to the future of the Gallery, and we are very excited about this move. Stay tuned to hear more about our grand opening celebration on April 7th.
